    1. Right! I feel guilty saying I think he's better looking than his dad... it's a toss up, but he is seriously insanely attractive!

    2. I don't know who's better looking ... honestly, they're so close in looks, it's impossible for me to compare oranges and oranges. In any event, I'm calling them "The Twins" from this point on!

      Delete
    3. They're both almost too hot to process fully, you know? They aren't just hot, either. They're super talented. It's so hard for my friends to comprehend my love for The Twins :D

    4. Mmm, yes everything you say is true, but there's something else about Jimmy Page. I think (although I don't know this to be a fact)that this guy is fairly well adjusted mentally. He seems to be operating from a place of realness despite his almost mythical status. This guy isn't afraid to smile, isn't afraid to mix with the fans, isn't afraid to laugh if the occasion calls for it. In other words, he isn't afraid to show his human side. He isn't some stuck up rock star, turning up his nose at every photo op that comes down the street. As a woman, I really like that. It tells me that maybe there are some guys out there who were raised with some integrity.

As for his sprout, well, I don't know much about him, but I'm hoping that like begets like...

    5. I know exactly what you mean! Jimmy knew what he was doing from day one and I more than respect his self-confidence. There's not a doubt in my mind that he was giving a silent thanks every second of his life for his success. Probably the most exciting thing about Jimmy, expressed in his black hair and hidden face, is his mystery. He was into black magic and kept a lot of his most-personal personal life to himself, which is also respectable. His son seems like he learned a lot from his dad's mistakes and he's as self-confident (but not conceeded or narcisistic) as his dad.

Gah.... I love them so much! :( I wish I could meet Jimmy, then marry his son. By the by, if you're the same person who commented first, I would love if you joined my blog! I would like you to join anyway, but I was wondering if the first comment was from someone else. Join please! I'll post more Lil' Pages if you do! :D

    6. OK, done! I've just joined, and yes, that was me who made that first comment.

I loved your comments in that last blog, but I'm too tired right now to get my thoughts in order. I will respond very soon to what you said, but for now, crashing on the couch is all I can think about. I'll be back!

    7. That's fine. Thanks so much for joining by the way! I was starting to get sad that no one joined recently... I figured people didn't like my story!

    8. Oh, I think people will like your story... they just need to find your site first.

Regarding your comments March 9: I think it's remarkable that you're able to see into him. You know, pick up on the subtleties of the pictures and information, and translate it accurately. For example, the fact that he's consistently smiling in all these pictures means something. The fact that in alot of these pictures he has taken with his fans, he has his arm around them, and not in a "Oh, I'm so bored, can we finish with this?" way. No, he's enthusiastic and glad to participate. All these small things tell you something about the man's character. Most people completely miss that kind of stuff. It's nice to meet someone beyond myself who can pick up on all this small stuff.

By the way, I'm thinking from the looks of your picture, that you're much younger than I. How nice that the younger ones have found Led Zeppelin, and appreciate them like my generation does!

    9. I'm 16 and I was brought into a family who only listens to rock :) I remember dancing to Ted Nugent's Cat Scratch Fever, Joe Walsh's Rocky Mountain Way, and Golden Earing's Radar Love when I was littler, and down-right refusing to dance to the kid's music my parent's bought me. I would dance for hours to Love Shack! :D It was inevitable that I would fall for the fathers of Hard Rock!

I'm glad I've found a person who I can level with about the subtleties of men so great at Jimmy-- I respect him so much it's almost gotten to the point where I'm not in love with him; but I am, so I'm not that far in respecting him yet. What I love most about Jimmy, which allows us to make these observations, is that he was always an open-book. In all his interviews and biographies, you can learn every aspect of his life that he's willing to share. Robert refuses to share stories of his early band life because he's embarrassed, but Jimmy reflects on them and makes himself better against them. Like now, he's a vegetarian and he doesn't drink or do drugs. He learned.

Yeah, Jimmy is an absolutely remarkable man. They were thinking about knighting him last year... I think of all people he deserves it.

      Delete
    10. My God, where are you getting all this information? He's open on several subjects, he's vegetarian, he doesn't drink or do drugs (well, that part doesn't suprise me)...where have you learned this? I'm impressed!

It's really great you were raised in a family that only listened to rock and roll. My upbringing was decidedly different ... my father was a professor who did research abroad, so I lived in Europe three years. I myself have a university degree, am very cerebral, love to write, love to travel, and plough through heavy hitting books like "Black Lamb and Grey Falcon" (Rebecca West), and "The Loved One" (Evelyn Waugh). I read Veterinary Surgical books in my down time at work. Given all this, the fact that I love Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page doesn't really fit with who I am. But there you have it! I think the band and the man are extraordinary!

And yes, I'm with you... I think he should be knighted!

      Delete
    11. Where do I get this information? Well, I've written about three other Jimmy Page love-story historical-fictions and I've done a lot of studying for those. While most kids my age are working on school work, I'm flunking classes reading biographies (When Giants Walked the Earth, Light and Shade) and stocking up on Led Zeppelin magazines (like the four Guitar World editions and a few Rolling Stone mags) when I should be doing homework. Self-educating about Led Zeppelin is more important to my future career than learning what the Quantum Theory is.

Plus, I'm a rock blogger and I'm obligated to find hard-hitting stories which, recently, due to the release of Celebration Day, were about Led Zep. But really, when I want to learn more about a band or person (for instance, I know everything about the Beatles as a result) I write a historical-fiction about it and research ever component of the topic. There's no room in my head for school-jargon!

      Delete
    12. Wow, you are a true rock chick! I was that way when I was your age, and I had a huge crush on Jimmy Page. I also loved Led Zeppelin. I saw them in concert July 1977, just days before Robert's son died. Anyway, as time moved on, and I got into university, things changed. I moved away from all that and focussed on the other things going on in my life. For years, I never thought about Led Zeppelin or Jimmy Page.

Then, two months ago, it all came back. My interest in Led Zeppelin, my interest in Jimmy Page. Out of the blue, there it was! I can't think of anything I did or thought about that may have triggered it... it just suddenly appeared. It seems Life was throwing it all down in front of me, saying, "OK, here it is! Time to get back into it!"

Maybe this is a "coming full circle" thing people talk about... that which I loved as a teenager is once again capturing my interest as a much older person. God, I hope this doesn't mean death is just around the corner...

      Delete
    13. No way! You saw Zeppelin! Oh my God-- tell me about it!

      Delete
    14. This was a long time ago, so memories are sketchy at best, but here goes...

I saw them at the Kingdome in Seattle. The Kingdome's no longer there; it's been replaced by some other structure whose name I've forgotten. Anyway, after waiting probably a good 8 hours outside, sitting, sleeping, lolling about with my friends, they finally herded us in like a bunch of cattle. Of course, there's the ticket ripping ritual as soon as you get inside, and the check for marijuana, which wasn't much of anything... just pat pat and you're done. Because I was the straight looking one in the group, all my friends had given me their pot to smuggle in. Their thinking was that because I looked as clean cut as I did, there was no way security was going to think I'd have anything on me. And they were right! Security barely sniffed at me as I passed that checkpoint, LOADED with everyone else's pot. Anyway,at that point you RUN to the front towards the stage to get as close as you can for the show. Of course, everyone else is doing this too, so it's a real stampede, and a bit frightening at that. Ah, the joys of General Admission!

Anyway, after waiting another hour or two, the lights went down and the roar went up. And suddenly the stage lit up, and there they were! Now, this was the time when Jimmy was going through his white dragon suit phase, so he was wearing that. Robert was on one of those shirts he wore with his chest exposed, and some sort of rope thing tied around his waist. John Bonham was still alive at that time, so he was at his kit with the bowler hat on. And John Paul Jones on keyboards, well there's not much to say about that.

They played "Rock and Roll", "Black Dog", "Whole Lotta Love" and of course "Stairway to Heaven", and a whole bunch of other Zeppelin classics I can't remember now. What I do remember is that Jimmy seemed heavy and sweaty in a way I found odd... he hung his head alot, and his hair obscured his face alot of the time. I know now that that was the drugs, because this was the time of his drug phase. Still, he was lithe and graceful in a way only Jimmy can be, and he did move around the stage alot. He also used the violin bow on the guitar for "Dazed and Confused."

I would describe Robert as "flouncy"... he seems to flop around alot on stage, and that night was no exception. Maybe it's the hair; I don't know. Anyway, they did an acoustic set midway through, which I really liked... maybe m because it was fun to see them quiet. Robert likes to cross his legs when he sits, and I found that quite appealing even though I'm not a Robert Plant fan.

      Delete
    15. Sorry... I had to take a break there.

At some point, John Bonham did a drum solo which lasted about 1/2 hour... I found this part to be boring and self-indulgent. People should NEVER let drummers solo for that long!!!! I can't imagine what they were thinking, unless they were using it as a chance for a good break.

They finished with "Stairway to Heaven", then came back for two encores, but I couldn't tell you what they played.

All this happened about a week before Robert's son died. The news came over the radio that he and John Bonham had flown back to England, and I thought, "How horrible! There's nothing worse than losing a child, and right in the middle of a heady tour no less! How tragic and awkward at the same time!"

Anyway, that's what I remember. That concert was the beginning of my love affair with Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page which lasted several years. You know, at some point, I'd like to meet Jimmy before he drops his clogs. I'm so glad he's still alive, so grateful he made it through all the madness, so that we can still see pictures of him with his white hair, walking down the streets of London. Life isn't always unkind, is it?

      Delete
    16. Amazing! Simply amazing! I would kill to live in the 70s at my age... It would be my own That 70s Show. And I would go to all the Zeppelin concerts because they were so cheap whereas Stones tickets at $1700 for the cheapest now... It's not fair. At all. Thanks for sharing your story! That was really interesting :) And yeah, when I found out that Robert's son died was I felt bad for him. But this is why we don't name our sons Karac Pendragon; they die. Why didn't Jimmy go with him? I would have called off the tour if I were him. Jimmy and his daughter, Scarlet, were very close to Robert and his son. Strange. But then again, Bonzo and Planty were friends before he and Jim.

I'll forever have a broken heart if I never get to meet Jimmy. If I knew Jimmy's main address (for I don't know where he lives permanently right now) I would ship him my historical-fiction about him and the band on their 1972 North American Tour (they were clever with their tour names) with a letter, and even if he didn't reply, what would I have to lose? Well, possibly the book, which someone would then copyright for themselves...

I find it weird how Jimmy didn't look Asian in the 70s and now it's very obvious that he is. And if he isn't, then he's a dead-ringer for an old Asian man.

I'm back! The work week was crazy, but here I am on a Sunday morning, having had a good night's sleep, so I'm ready to go!

Onto your comments about Jimmy being a dead ringer for an old Asian man... Yes, I agree! I can't account for it, though. Regardless, he still looks really good. Amazing that at his age, he's still as physically appealing as all that!

By the way, what's he up to these days? Not being one who's all that tuned in to the coming and goings of rock stars, I need to rely on those more up to date on these things...

Speaking of rock stars, I have a funny thing to tell you. I work at a Veterinary clinic. All the bladder and kidney stone cases that come in we call "Rock Stars". Stupid medical humor...

    3. haha I wanted to answer the first comments that you had made at the beginning

      Delete
    4. You mean about Jimmy Page's son?

      Delete
    5. Maggie: real ironic that you work at a vet clinic! I was going to be a vet after my two horses died, but two years ago I watched Rock Star with Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston and I had this epiphany that I was to be the new Chuck Berry. That, and I could never afford 8 years at Michigan State! That would total to at least more than half a mil, and I don't trust loans.

Lately, Jimberts been up to nothing. He's raising his kids; 69 year-old Jimmy has a daughter (Zofia) who is my age-- born the same year as me ('97), which makes it weird that I love him-- and he's probably devolting time to his homelife like he never has before. After the releasing of Celebration Day and the concert at O2, he met the president and was serenaded by Tenatious D, then went of Letterman, did some publicity, went to the airing of CD, all the usual. Now, I think, he's just at home storming up some new ideas with Jonesy. Otherwise, I'm not sure. He's finally out of the public eye again. Probably doing some Occult, Dark Magic stuff; good ole Jim.

Anonymous: Oh, well, in that case, you are sooooooo wrong! :D I've already married both Jimmy and James. It gets confusing at times, but.... I've had dibs! So, unless you want to make one of them cheat on me, they're mine... ALL MINE! :D HAHA!

    6. On the subject of John Paul Jones; have you seen the David Letterman interview with the three of them? John Paul Jones was ON FIRE in that one! Very, very funny! He had everyone laughing!

      Delete
    7. Oh my goodness, he was hilarious! I was so proud of the Silent Weapon! Robert was the one in stitches for once! I loved when, during one of the press conferences, Robert called the camera-man a "shmuck" for asking if there was going to be a reunion :D They've still got it.

      Delete
    8. Really?!?! Robert called the cameraman a "schmuck"? Oh, that is truly priceless! I just love it when people cut loose!

Yes, I enjoyed that whole Letterman interview. Many, many funny moments. Like the quip David Letterman made about the 20 million ticket requests that came in for the '07 concert in London. "But", he said, "some of those requests were for matinees" (I'm paraphrasing, of course.)

"Now, when you say, 'matinee', do you mean what we refer to as 'matinee'?" Robert quipped. ( I guess this has some sort of dirty meaning in British English ... I don't know.)

"Oh, no, no, no", said David, and he kept laughing in a very nervous way. This really amused Jimmy, and he jumped up in his chair, laughed in a very "Ha ha, Oh My God!" animated way and turned to Robert and nudged him. That was a classic moment.

And the bit about the music being about sex and Vikings and Vikings having sex. "You forgot the bit about Vikings having sex with hobbits", John Paul Jones said.

Or when David Letterman said he thought he should join the band. "Noooo", said John Paul Jones, and the other two cracked up.

Yes, all of it was good. All four men were on their A game that night. That one I've put on my "Favorites" List, so I can tune in whenever I need a good laugh!

      Delete
    9. Same! It's hilarious! I loved the part where they first got on and Jimmy pretended to be mad Robert took the seat farthest from Letterman (something they obviously worked out together so as to make JPJ sit closes to Letterman) and sat next to him. But I liked how, throughout the entire Celebration Day release, they acted like nothing was happening.

"So you're realeasing another box set?"
      "What? Since when?"

And they got so mad whenever anyone brought up a reunion! That was when Robert called the camera man a schmuck-- I would too. They're deffinetly still very personality-vast!

Oh! Speaking of pictures, I just saw one of Jimmy with Jerry Hall (Mick Jagger's ex), Jo Wood (Ronnie Wood's ex), and another woman who I didn't recognize. I think it's really good, and captures the energy coming from all of them. Lord, that man has moxie, even at his age!

    1. I'm going to throw something at both of you you may find hard to believe. MOST OF THESE GUYS ARE INCREDIBLY INSECURE. I MEAN,EVEN MORE INSECURE THAN THE AVERAGE JOE WALKING DOWN THE STREET. I know this from firsthand experience.

I am what you would call "very attractive". I have had what I thought was the good fortune to meet a few rock stars. No, I'm not going to name names, so don't even ask. Without exception, every single one of these guys completely lost it in my presence. I mean, shaking at the knees, giggling, stammering, blushing; just totally giddy, and ready to RUN, because they knew they were making complete asses of themselves! You want to talk about a total reversal of roles! And I'm standing there thinking, "Jesus! Who's the rock star here? You or me? Because from the looks of it, I think it's me!"

I couldn't figure it out until I asked my then significant other one night when we were driving home from a rock show where we had been backstage. We knew the group casually, so that's how we ended up in the dressing room after the show. We were talking about the drummer's reaction to me when he saw me. This drummer stood across the room, trying to have a conversation with others, but couldn't stop himself from staring slack-jawed at me the whole night. I mean, literally, the jaw-on-the-ground, eyeballs-rolling-around, totally stunned kind of staring. I could tell from his reaction that this guy was in total overwhelm, and there was going to be NO WAY he was going to approach me even to say, "Hi", or "Did you like the show?"

"Jesus God", I said to my ex in the car. "Did you see the way that drummer was staring at me?"

      "I did", he said.

"I don't get it", I said. "Of all the guys in this world, you'd think rock stars would be the most comfortable around beautiful women, because they do so much fraternizing with them. You'd think they'd be practiced at the art of talking to a beautiful woman, because they do it all the time. And I'd think this drummer was no exception. So what the fuck was that back there?"

"Maggie", my ex said to me. "These guys attract a certain kind of beautiful girl. You're not in that category. You're more than that, and they can see it a mile away. Your looks, the way you carry yourself... it's more than they can process."

So, basically what he was saying is that I DAUNT THEM. I've met a few more since that incident, and the reaction's always been the same. Stuttering, stammering, blushing...it gets old after awhile. The thing I find so disappointing about all this is that these so-called Rock Gods don't have more moxie than that. I mean, they're much worse in the self-esteem department than even these idiots driving around here, whistling and making "Pull over" signs to me from their cars!

This is why I'm off the meeting rock stars thing. I can't even get to first base with these guys!

I hope none of what I've written will be perceived as arrogance. It isn't intended that way. It's only the truth. These guys are, unfortunately, very insecure.

      Delete
    2. Anony: Really? I'll have to find some pictures of her. And oh yes, I would die if I ever got to meet him!

Maggie: Interesting story! No, it wasn't arrogance-- unfairness, yes, but arrogant, no. Why didn't you harness your beauty and marry one of the rockers! If I were you, I'd've skipped out on being a vet (as immature and impractical as it sounds) and married a rocker! :D

    1. I'm off men right now, so marriage will have to wait. I'm having too much fun flying solo!

I have a fun rocker story for you. This happened to me about a year ago.

I live on the West Coast of Florida. Our town has a famous circular shopping boulevard where alot of moneyed people go to buy. I was driving this circle one day, and traffic was heavy, so we were all stopped. I looked to my right, and there, sitting next to me, in a little blue sportscar, was someone who looked familiar. The top was down to his convertible, so I could see him clearly. I couldn't place him, though. He had wild, kind of longish hair, sunglasses, and just LOOKED like a rock star. In the passenger seat was a gorgeous blonde, and she looked familiar as well. Well now, my interest is piqued, and I really want to know who these two are, so I'm racking my brains. Just then, traffic starts moving. Space opens up behind me, and the little blue sportscar slides right in behind me. Now I have a direct view of the two of them in my rear view mirror, but I still can't put my finger on who they are. And then it hits me; this is Joe Perry and his wife Billie!

I know Aerosmith is based in Boston, and now I'm wondering what these two are doing down here. Well, that answer's easy enough... alot of people come to Florida to winter. But still, I'm looking for confirmation that my guess about who these two are is right, and the way I might know that is to look at their license plate. Does it say Massachusetts? But I'm in FRONT of them, and as we all know, most cars don't have front license plates anymore. The plate's in the back. So around they follow me, through the circle, across the drawbridge, and way up the highway for miles. And the whole time, they're talking. They're not aware of me at all. Now they've switched lanes, and are approaching me on my left. They overtake me, and get in the left turn lane. Now, I'm now behind them, and I have a clear view of their rear license plate, which reads, "MASSACHUSETTS"! SCORE, SCORE, SCORE, MAGGIE! YOU WERE RIGHT! Still, it seemed odd to me they were driving their car from Massachusetts when if they were only on vacation, wouldn't they have a rental? That question was answered for me by one of my girlfriends several months later, who told me they live down here now. She had seen his bus parked in an open field the weekend before, where I guess he was getting ready for a show.

I didn't know any of this! This is how out of it I can be. But here's the thing I wanted to say; From watching those two interact in my rear view mirror all those miles up that highway, I understand why that marriage works. These two TALK to one another. It isn't just Billie blah blah blahing; he blah blah blahs too! I mean, he was ACTIVELY engaged in that conversation! It was such a beautiful example to two people genuinely participating in a relationship, that I will probably always think of the two of them sitting in that car, whenever someone brings up the notion of "healthy relationship" to me.

Anyway, that's all I have to say for now.

    2. My apologies, my laptop keyboard got ruined so I had to wait to reply until I got to my mom's who has a desktop. That's really interesting! The only famous person I've ever met/ seen (outside of attending a concert) was the original drummer for Grand Funk Railroad, who lives near me in Michigan after he was kicked out in the 70s. I didn't think Joe and Billie were still together! That's so cute! I want a relationship like theres', see, because I always imagined musicians (what I want to be) to be arrogant toward their wives. You know? Like she would come into a room and try talking to him and he would push her out. Just mistreat the women. I'm very glad that Joe and his wife are a normal couple, though :) It's really sweet. I'm off men right now, too... They always screw me over :/

    3. I think the rock stars who know how to run their relationships right keep their egos in check when around family. They really couldn't manage any other way, if they value the relationships around them. They nurture those connections, because those people are the only ones they can really trust. It's actually quite lonely at the top, never knowing who you can trust. Having that kind of support around you is invaluable, and you do what you can to keep that going.

I'm not saying every rock star is like this, but those who have figured a few things out definitely are. And I'd put Joe Perry in that category.

    4. I think it all stems from their childhood. Like even now, I'm one of the only few kids in my highschool who recognizes the little things, understands what my parents have gone through, and exercise humbleness when it comes to things I can't get. They raised me to work for what I want, not just hand it to me. For the rockstars that mistreat everyone around them, I think they weren't raised under those principles. They were never given a reality check, you know? I just find them irritating. All of Led Zeppelin were raised under those principles, and Jimmy loved all of his wives even if he did cheat on them. He respected them. He wasn't like... say, Axl Rose, who obviously just doesn't care. I find people like him ridiculous. That why I now respect Joe Perry.

      Delete
    5. Yes, I think you're right. All of it comes from how someone is raised. There needs to be structure and discipline, and children need to be taught to appreciate what they have. If you're taught that as a child, you go out into the world relatively well adjusted. Those with this kind of rearing also treat the people around them much better than those completely self-absorbed. I work with a woman who is now in her early 40s, who was never raised with a modicum of discipline. My God! Does it ever show in her interpersonal relationships at work! Not one of us can stand her! Honestly, you're not doing a child a favor by letting them do whatever they want whenever they want!

But back to the rock star thing... I didn't know Jimmy cheated on his wives! So that's why there have been so many divorces! Women can't STAND that shit, and they don't care how famous the guy is! Hopefully age has slowed him down, but if it hasn't, he needs to sit down and think about that one. That's not right, even if it is Jimmy Page.

On the Axl/Guns 'n Roses thing... I went to highschool with their bass player, Duff McKagan. I remember seeing him in the halls. Very sweet guy. He was very good friends with my sister, and I remember him knocking on my sister's window in the middle of the night. She'd climb out, and off they'd go into the night to party! He's still in touch with some of that old crowd, although I don't think it's with my sister. I don't know... I'll have to ask her when I talk to her next time.

Anyway, I remember hearing he'd moved to L.A., and a few years later, VOILA! There he was on the back cover of "Appetite for Destruction"! We were all thrilled when that album came out! Shortly after that, G 'n R played our hometown , and Duff invited alot of the old crowd backstage to watch the show. I wasn't there... I wasn't part of that scene, ever, but one of those there that night told me a story later about teasing him backstage about "being a big rockstar now", and he just kind of hung his head, and went, "Oh, no, no, no, no, no!" I don't think he wanted the old crowd to treat him any differently than they had before. When it came to them, he just wanted to be one of the grunts, because they were all there BEFORE he became famous, and he didn't want the dynamics of those relationships to become weird and altered. Anyway, that's another guy who has it together...

    6. I'm starting my reply backwards. I hate you! (Not really, of course). You've had so much lucky throughout your life! Duff! No fair! He's a cutie :) I'd've rather known Slash in school, but knowing Duff would definitely be brag-worth. This is why living in BFE Michigan is terrible-- the only type of success we get out of our town is this underground band I go to highschool with that just started, but they're "screamo" so nobody will really know them even if they did play with Vince Neil down in Orlando a while ago. Before them, and still now, there is nobody that goes through our town. Just Kid Rock, and that's not much... He and Uncle Kracker (from Florida) own a bar a few miles down the road and they like to fly helicopters everywhere, but I've never personally met them. If I lived in a nice city, I might have as interesting stories as you do!

And of course Jimmy cheated on his wives! Led Zeppelin were, in fact, the founding fathers of groupies. How Jimmy never impregnated a groupie, I don't know because God knows he wasn't into condoms and such. Robert did all that too. Bebe Beau got her start as a groupie for Zeppelin-- she's better known now as the mother of Steven Tyler's son and several other illegitimate babies. In the Starship (the plane that Led Zeppelin so famously bought to use in '73 and '77), there were two decked-out bedrooms that I can tell you right now were in full use. How they ever managed to keeps wives for so long, I'll never know. But John Paul Jones never slept with groupies because it made him feel guilty (so he says), and Bonzo was usually too drunk to stand straight. Jimmy's too old and responsible to cheat on his wife now, though (I hope, because he has a daughter my age and i know how it feels to have an unfaithful parent).

Really (about your coworker)? That's ridiculous. She's a grown woman, she shouldn't be that conceded. Some people amaze me.

    7. Yes, I suppose I have met some interesting characters along the way. Nothing's ever come of it though... I'm still single, still working! At this point though,I'm so fed up with men, that I PREFER being alone. Too much bullshit. So if I met a rock star in my current state of mind, I'd probably be polite and keep moving. I'm up to my eyeballs with ALL of them right now, rock stars or not. I have to qualify that statement however, by saying that I don't think this state of mind will last forever. Everything changes, and I probably will reach a point where I'm ready to get back in the saddle. But it won't be today! And tomorrow's not looking good either!

Yes, I figured Robert and Jimmy were into groupies, but I didn't know it went that far! I mean, to the point of having two bedrooms on their plane that were in continual use! (Why am I thinking about that quote by Sophocles right now, where he says, "Having a penis is like being chained to a madman"?!?!) As far as not getting anyone pregnant, well, I wouldn't be suprised if they did, but it just never came to light. Who's to say there aren't alot of little Pages and Plants running around this earth, who may or may not know who their real fathers are?

And yes, I'm inclined to agree with you when you say that Jimmy's too old and responsible to be acting up these days, although I can't quite figure out what he's doing for female companionship. Is he single or not? I never see him pictured with romantic interests anymore! Tell me, Wise Oracle, Expert on all things Zeppelin, "Who's Jimmy currently porking?"

    8. sorry! My Dad's keyboard is ruined and I'm swamped with homework... I will give you a proper reply Wednesday, promise! I have a lot to say, but when I replied the day after you wrote all that, my internet crashed right as I posted it. I was furious! Just want to let you know that I'm not un-interested in your story, just busy!

    9. Okay, Sweetie! Talk to you soon!

    10. I know what you mean about men being full of BS-- I'm lucky to have settled for a friend of mine I figured was WAY to goofy and wussy to date, but he's been wonderful to me, which if more than I can ask for :) I know we're not going to last because I'm only 16, but I like to live in the present, and I'd rather have a nice run with someone than have an unhappy marriage, you know?

And they were VERY MUCH involved with groupies, I'm very surprised you never hear the tabloids from I think... mmm, '77? Maybe '76 or sometime like that where Zep stayed at a on-the-beach hotel and were fishing out of the balcony and caught a little shark and a redsnapper. Let's just say that the redsnapper went in some poor lady's redsnapper! Although Jimmy denied that they attempted to do the same thing with a live shark. He was freaky, very freaky! He was Christian Grey from 50 Shades before the book even came out! And I hope there are little Pages and Plants running around; I may have myself a little bit of a chance to "find their real dad" with them ;)

As for Jimbert now, he's married to some Brazillian lady, but I don't know if he still is. All I know is that she is the most recent mother of his current children. He name is something strange, stranger than their daughter's name (Zofia). You'd have to look her up, I don't want to do anymore research on the woman who stole my man!

See, this is a summed-up version of what I had to say. I was so furious it was all deleted! Sorry it took so long to reply!

      Delete
    11. You don't want to do anymore research on the woman who stole your man?!? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Oh, that's good! I could probably fill in some of the blanks for you on that subject, but I don't want to depress you!

Yes, this debauchery thing... I don't know how much of what's been said is true and how much is embellishment. I don't doubt Jimmy wasn't very well behaved, but where does the depravity end and the exaggeration begin? I mean, things probably did happen on the road, but the stories got magnified. And of course, Peter Grant did nothing to counter all this, because it only added to the mystique surrounding the band. Yes, Mr. Grant was a sharp guy...

I'm thinking now that if you want to help all the little Pages and Plants out there find their real dad, I may just have Dad's address...

      Delete
    12. Really? :D I've been looking for his current address so I can mail him my re-edited book (Turn My Page) and see what he thinks of it! That would be extremely helpful! And I just read something today in Mick Wall's When Giants Walked the Earth that Robert Plant hadn't even been kissed at 19 and Jimmy had "lost his virginity one especially sunny day as he walked hand-in-hand through the woods with a girl he had considered 'his first true love'" in highschool. I just thought that was interesting, because it really shows where they came from, you know? And how they ended up.

But that address would be perfect! I have to finish editing the story, revising the facts and fiction, and then I have to print out all 100+ pages of it and find out how to hold them all together so I can send a manila folder and letter his way. With any luck, I'll get to meet him because he'll love my story so much! :) And considering these messages are getting a tad out of control, we can continue this conversation via E-mail (allykat4632@gmail.com).

Regarding the creditibility of the sex scandals, I'm sure a lot of it was exaggerated, but if I had been hopped up on cocaine and heroin for decades, I'm sure I would believe them now if I were Jimmy or Robert.

      Delete
    13. Jimmy probably was on heroin too long, but at least he had the good sense to get off it. I don't know... to me, the whole heroin thing didn't fit with who Jimmy really was (and is) as a person. I guess I'd have to say that I perceive that whole heroin thing as a phase, which I guess he felt he needed to indulge. Mercifully, he got back on track, so we can all still enjoy him! John Bonham wasn't so lucky.

I went out tonight and bought Led Zeppelin III and IV on CD. God, I haven't owned a Led Zeppelin CD in decades! So good to hear these songs again, and what's more, they don't even sound dated! Their music really has stood the test of time, which is why the younger generation likes it too! Timeless, timeless, timeless...

    14. My sincerest apologies, I've had drivers training every night until 8 and I haven't had much time for anything!

No, but while he was, he went big! He tended toward unhealthiness. During the mid-70s, he went on a "liquid diet" and nearly died from malnutrition. Poor guy. He really knew how to run his life, he just went of track every now an then. Typical Capricorn! As for Bonzo, I read just the other day that they tied in deaths like his and Ronnie Wood's (from the Stones) and attributed them to the fact that there was a dabbling of black magick going on. I felt like whoever came up with that nonsense just wanted to stir something up-- they didn't die because of their fascination with Aleister Crowley and his outfit-- that is, Bonzo was never involved it that, Jimmy was, and so was Ron and his girlfriend at the time.

Good for you! I only have two Beatles remastered CDs-- I prefer radio! But I did have my dad's Slowhand CD and Best of the Police, but some kids stole those. I'm at least glad those kids had good taste! They are very timeless! I would by a Zep II because I LOVE Whole Lotta Love (obviously, right?)

I'm a bit more free now, so it shouldn't be taking me so long to reply. Again, my apologies! And also, hows about Sir Page's address! :D If you know it, of course. I think he may still be living in his Irish boathouse and his... oh, not Pangbourne... Somewhere around that area... Well, whatever. He has too many houses anyway.

      Delete
    15. I did send you his address about 10 days ago, to allykat4362@yahoo.com! You didn't get it? Oh, no! Let me know here if that is your correct email address! If it is, I'll send it again!

Hahahahaha... "he has too many houses anyway." Good one! "You hear that, Jimmy Page? Jenni thinks it's time to downsize!!!!!!"

      Delete
    16. Oh! Okay! That's my alternative account, so you can use my gmail.com account with the same name. Sorry! :D And he doesn't need to downsize-- Hell, if I were as loaded as him, I'd have tons of houses too! I know he's not rich, but I know he's always been lower upper class, which I can't say for myself, so I consider him rich. Probably generalizing, but whatever!

      Delete
    17. Oh, he's rich! About $125 million rich! I don't know about men with alot of money though... I dated a rich guy a few years ago, and it was one of the most miserable experiences of my life. He thought because he had all the money, he could call all the shots. Let's just say he found out differently.

For me, it isn't essential someone be loaded. It's essential they have a good job, a steady income, and TREAT ME WELL. This is where this guy screwed up. I had the last laugh though... after I broke up with him, I heard nothing for two months. Then the phone calls started again. I didn't pick up. When he got back into town that December (he's Irish, and lives in Dublin most of the year), he texted me to meet. I agreed, and met him for coffee. He just couldn't get it off the ground though, because by then, my mind had moved so far from wanting a relationship with anyone, that it was unreal. So he had to chuck it. I think he realizes now that when you have chemistry that extraordinary with someone, it's probably better not to piss all over it.

Well, he'll know that for next time!

      Delete
    18. Money changes people. They say it doesn't, but people are emotional towards money and if you have more of it, you're more willing to do whatever you want. I'm VERY thankful that Jimmy just spent his on antiques, instruments, his music, and other practical things! :D

      Delete
    19. Yes, I've decided the only way to deal with men with money is to make your own so you can hold your own. I'm different in the sense that I won't do anything and everything to hold onto a guy who has money. I have a hard time playing the role of subordinate, and anyone that treats me badly gets left. I don't care if he has money or not.

There have been at least a few who have discovered I won't tolerate being used, and is it ever funny to watch these guys spin around when I up and leave!!! Because they're so used to getting away with anything and everything, it's quite a shock to them to finally come across someone who tells them "NO!"

Men are like children; you have to set rules for them, or they'll do all kinds of things they shouldn't be doing! This is one of the things experience has taught me. I'm telling you this, because as a young woman, you're going to encounter situations where a guy is going to want you to do something you're not ready to do. Don't hesitate, Jenni, not for even a nanosecond, to tell him NO if you're not completely ready to do it. If this guy can't wait, he's not for you!

And in the end, the truth is that most guys just aren't worth it!

  8. I just came across this blog. I am a Zep fan from way back, the early 1970s, when I was a young teen. I saw Zep live about ten times. Those were the days when fans were actually able to buy tickers at the box office, not from scalpers! Not to mention, music fans were actually allowed to bring cameras into the venues. It was certainly a different time.

I wanted to add some info re Jimmy's eldest son, Jimmy Page III, he is actually the son Jimmy had with his American wife Patricia Ecker, I think that's the correct spelling of her name. IIRC, they were married less than 10 years. He is not Jemima's son. There is so much miss-information online.

Groupies pictured with Jimmy in the late 1960s/early 1970s are labeled as his ex girlfriends or his ex-wives etc. In fact, a super groupie from the 60s/70s Uschi Obermaier has been in photos with Jimmy many times, Uschi is always miss-labeled as Patricia Ecker or as an ex-girlfriend of Page. I guess people don't research the time frame of the photos? Uschi was actually in a band, Amon Duul.

Jemima, the 'Brazilian' wife (who is actually an American, from California, whose parents are from Argentina), was the young woman many Page fans were unsure he was even married to, many fans also though Jemima resembled groupie Lori Maddox. Jemima had two children with Page.

I think the confusion about Jemima being Brazilian stems from how Jimmy met her, which was at some Brazilian benefit event. Since Jemima was involved in many Brazilian causes, people assumed she was Brazilian.

Fans can easily Google to see Page's many children. He is usually pictured with three of Jemima's chidren, but one child is not his. Jemima had one child, (a girl) before meeting Page. Jemima and Jimmy had a boy and a girl, the children are adorable.

Hs eldest child, the photographer Scarlet Page, is the child Page had with French model Charlotte Martin. Scarlet is a natural blond with Jimmy's eyes. You should check out Scarlet's photos.

Charlotte Martin also dated Eric Clapton for a few years before hooking up with Jimmy. The story of how Page met Charlotte can also be Googled. Let's just say, Charlotte sure liked her rockers!

  9. Thanks for all the input! I actually learned a lot from this; man, the internet is REALLY off. How do you know all of this? I know a lot about Charlotte from reading When Giants Walked the Earth, but that's the only wife that Mick Wall really covered. Now, was it Charlotte or Pamella Des Barres who eventually dated Todd Rundgren? I think it was Pam after Jimmy left her around '72. But anyway, thanks for the info! My apologies for misinformation!

It was Bebe Buell, another groupie, whom Jimmy Page dumped and later became Todd Rundgren's girl.
